FINAL REPORT

The Northeast Ohio Universities Collaboration and Innovation Study Commission, established by the General Assembly as part of House Bill 699, is please to announce the release of its final report after a year of examining ways to improve the quality of public higher education in Northeast Ohio. The commission labored on issues ranging from how to achieve greater academic excellence at the institutions to how to better organize common administrative functions to save money that could be redirected to increasing student success and improving academic programming. Its key recommendations urge adoption of strategies to increase the number of college graduates in the region, and expansion of collaborations among the schools to strengthen the region’s research momentum and focus university programs on critical regional economic needs and opportunities.
